Teesside Meet - ideas

Just thought I would throw this one out. I am in Teesside and I have been thinking about the proposed meet that Wayne mentioned in another thread. I figure if we get some decent suggestions then we can pass them to Wayne.

If there is to be a Teesside meet where would be the best place, thinking of space for the cars, food for the drivers, location easy for out of towners and scenery for some decent pics. No need for a post card, drop suggestions below. However, if you do have a surplus amount of postcards and wish to put them to good use, may I suggest designing your own over sized deck of playing cards - great for those caravan holiday rainy day why did we come here situations.

So far suggestions for Teesside are:

Teesside Park (Bingo end, rarely gets busy)
Portrack Lane (Macdonalds part)

Porttack has a customised car place called AWX which I have used before (believe they do Custom Exhausts as well) for starting off a meet and then could move on to other places like Teeside Motor Factors for a Rolling Road Session.

How about Redcar for seaside shots and fish and chips??

Actually there is a place in Brotton (maybe a bit too far) and darlington that do custom exhaust work - could hold a meet and if anyone wanted an exhaust could organise discount maybe.

As above, Redcar is an option. Scarborough or Whitby?

We also had a mini-meet at Preston Park last year when I was up - so another option.

Come to think of it there is a massive car park at redcar that hardly ever fills up. There is also a chuck wagon there plus just around the corner there is the worlds best ice cream parlour.

Could make some enquiries about driving onto the beach for pics etc.

Keep the ideas coming please but also thoughts on this one in particular! Cheers

How about Marske-by-the-sea?? I believe there is a car park that goes onto the beach and a little further down towards redcar a minchellas cafe.

i think the big carpark at redcar (majuba) is a pay & display during the day, there is a couple of smaller carparks on the coast road between redcar and marske which should be ok and overlook the sea. there isnt really a beach at marske, more of a slipway into the sea,

If its the one next to the caravan site then you may be right. Doubt it costs much though - its always empty. But the coast line isnt a bad idea, there is another car park up the other end not sure if they charge too????

What about Tees Barrage, plenty of parking, reasonably scenic, easy to get to and a pub that does food. Plus if you are bringing kids then its not a bad place to have a walk around.
