I used the have the pure blue LED front sidelights, which only flashed when the engine/ignition was off. They looked great at night, but they did stop after a while, I don't know how long exaclty but get in the car in the morning and they had stopped.

I'm sure the only reason they dont work is because the computer reads the resistance of the circuit the bulb is on, i.e, if a bulb blows, there is little/no resistance therefore computer say's check 'Said' bulb.

Im sure with LEDs because they use such a small current, the resistance is low enough to trigger the computer. Placeing a resistor in the circuit to bring the resistance back upto that of a normal bulb should solve this?

led's are not measured in watts. Its an equlivelant light output as a 5 watt lamp, if you know what I mean.

Yeah, Im aware they arn't actually 5 watts, but its the resistance the computer measures?

OK so I'm going to order some rear/stop LEDs this morning and ask for the resistance wires. My little question is a bit basic - the bayonets on the side of the new bulb are at different heights...is that the same as the 380 standard filament bulb's?

    thanks

Also another basic question, the resistors... do I need one per side or two per side?

    resistors: One per side....

Filament height doesn't seem to affect how the bulb locates in the holder

    so order has been placed
