Default rear of car moves sideways/skips

ok got a strange thing happening on rough roads in particular earlier today i had choice but to go over a sunken manhole well the rear of the car went sideways after going over the manhole i have noticed this over past few days but thought i was imagining it but it definitley moves or skips sideways i recently lowered the car but left the original sri shocks in as they were only 2 month old is lowering it 45mm causing the problem as the shocks are too long or is there something else likely to be the culprit thanks

they could be out of shape even if they are new or it could be a rear bush gone still worth getting it checked out before things get worse

Shock absorbers are knackered mate, without doubt!

Standard GM Shocks are crap, Vauxhall only waranty them for something like 5000 miles from the factory!

yep..if its bouncing and skipping its deffo the shocks... try proven products for bilstein b4's instead of vx ones..(£73 deliverd)
or u could also get performance shocks like the b6's depending on your budget..

I had the very same problem with my Vec stepping out at the back, it turned out to be the Rear Upper Control Arms that were shot. £35+vat ea and only 2 torx bolts on each arm, an easy job to do.
