    Default what engine do i have?

    hi im new to this site as of today,ive just sold my vectra b 2.5 v6 sport and bought a vectra c 1.8 sxi in napal yellow,im trying to get used to the drop in power and the colour. can you guys tell me what type of engine i have and what can i do to it to give it some more power without upping the mpg too much? oh and its an 2003 reg

    usual stuff.....exhaust / filter will supposedly give you 10-15 % extra.....NOS if you can afford it....

    edit:- there is a re-map but only get this done as a last thing if you getting zaust and filter.....

    im thinking of a k and n panel filter for starters but really trying to keep my mpg up because my v6 cost me a fortune. is it a vvt in that car or is that the newer ones,i know next to nothing about these vectra cs

    on a 03 it won't be a vvt, just a plain old simple 1.8 (like mine), bit underpowered, but depends on what you use it for?

    Save the money and buy a more powerful one next time, otherwise you will spend a grand to gain half a second.

    With it being the 2003 model like mine, the engine model is: Z18XE

    I have a Powerflow cat-back exhaust system & ITG foam panel filter.
    I'm happy enough with the performance as it is now

    Any other performance mods start costing big money.
    You won't really get big figures with this engine, but it's not a bad engine

    ive been out in it this morning and it is nippier than i first thought,think i need an irmy grill on it to cheer me up a bit lol its a bit of a shock when you open the bonnet and find that little thing hidden away in there.

    I know what you mean, with the engine cover off it's a tiny little engine LOL

    Mine does OK though, i've had no probs with it (touch wood) and it isn't all that slow. It goes alright once you get used to driving it and changing gear at the optimum revs.

    It's a tough little engine and you don't hear of many probs with them - get a CDTI for probs
