Default 1.9cdti 150 with D-cat passes MOT with VX dealer

This post is for info only. A few people where wondering if a Diesel 1.9 cdti would pass the mot once it had been de-cated. Well I took mine to a Vauxhall dealer to have its very first mot and it passed, no problems.

But they found some warranty work to do! So not getting car back until tomorrow to find out what they have done.

No cat seems to reduce the Turbo lag and gives a bit of a boost speed wise. I am getting the car ready for a remap:
De-cat with 2.25" pipe with single box at the back (done)
K and N panel filter with airbox mod (done)
Turbo intercooler (To be done shortly)

    Then the remap.................

Well I always found the opposite, when I removed the CAT the power and torque fell on the rollers. Spoons found the same with the VXR aswell. It's hard to tell from just the 'feel' if you have gained or lost. A torque spike can make a car feel fast when it isn't but then again, it's how it feels that brings enjoyment.

I did question removing the cat at MIJ's as it was their idea. If it does as you say reduce the BHP then they will be putting it back on again!

Got some issues with the exhaust anyways as they left of the front rubbers which put all the weight on the flexi pipe. When u refit them the exhaust hits the bodywork.

Remap then back to MIJ's I think

So the jurys out then, see what the remappers say and go from there.
MIJ's were insistant that it would improve the BHP so I will wait and see..........
