Default CD70 - lost SAT NAV position after garage repair

Wondering if the solution is simple or a Vauxhall dealer re-visit is required.

Beloved Vectra 06 plate went in for a gear lever replacement at the local garage a week ago and since it has been returned the CD 70 Sat Nav position does not seem to be in synchronisation with the screen. If I look at the map screen the arrow placing the car's position moves forward down the road I am on, then backwards then jumps off the road. It seems to be continually trying to find its correct position.

If I press INFO to view the car's position co-ordinates, the figures revolve like a jackpot machine.

Everything else about the CD70 is ok

I have checked the plugs at the back and they seem ok.

Might be a stupid suggestion but have you checked the way the map displays, ie North Up, Centered, etc, these are found in the settings menu. It may have defaulted to North Up if the battery has been dissed. As you may know, North up is the default setting and thats where the car moves up and the map stays still untill the car reaches the top of the screen, then it refreshes.

    Thanks for the reply.....

For completeness, the fix according to the Vauxhall Garage in Chester was a new CD70 and roof aerial.
no difference in the CD70, the previous one was from new when the car was dleivered in July 2006.
The radio signal seems stronger now, more FM stations that last longer in range e.g. ROCK FM.

Just had to re-enter in all my destinations again!
