Default Half way through painting calipers!!

Well it's taken one day and only got two done!!! God it's a long job but well worth it. I opted for silver Hammerite smooth in the end. How long does that stuff take to dry!!! Shine a light!!! It's been literally like watching paint dry!! Does anyone know what the best stuff is for cleaning and preparing the calipers for paint? I used soapy water with a brush then wonder wheels and then a wire brush. Did this a coouple of times but it's hard to get into all the little nooks and crannies. The other side will have to wait a few weeks. The wire brush has lost more bristles than I've lost hair and me back is breaking. It does look much better than corroded metal though and I'm chuffed!!

Very nice, must do mine, had the paint for 6 months........

Best thing to remove brake dust from the calipers is brake cleaner, spray it on and it gets in all the nooks and crannies, best stuff,imo......

That sounds more like it. Spray on and leave. Like it!! I bought the paint from Halfrauds yesterday and thought if I don't do this now it will probably never get done!! Hence all the work today and cleaning the wheels inside and out!!!

Warning....Gold Hammerite smooth fades into a nasty dull colour !
Just drive round and look at peoples fancy wrought iron fences with the gold details. Mines doing the same, fading!
