Default Strange rattle sound on 3,000 rpm.

Sounds sounds sounds......... noticed recently that as soon as I hit 70 mph the car was starting to vibrate a little on the steering wheel and accelerator....... put this down to age (2002) and mileage (75k). Yet this week a slight rattle has started to happened when I hit the gas hard normally when I've just hit 3,000 rpm.

    Maybe the exhaust?

    Car's a 1.8 B.T.W.....

Engine mounts regards to the vibrating sound Keithy? I hav'nt had any jolting and the engine has never stalled without reason.

I was thinking more the heat plate or a joint being loose for the rattle sound.....

yes mine were really bad at 70mph, you could feel it through the steering and feel the vibrations though the floor

Where they cheap to replace, I think I saw the parts for about £20-30 pound.

well in the old vectra v6 there was one at the back of the engine which was different from the rest, it cost me 70 quid at the time for the part but i could not find a garage at the time willing to take the job on due to the work involved so i just sold the car. but i'm sure things will be less complicated on a 1.8
