    Default Veccy 3.2 v6

Hi guys this is my first post so please be gentle on me.
I am currently in the process of looking to buy a v6 3.2 vectra and i have a few questions regarding the v6.

I have read lots of post regarding the auto box failing and it appears that i should definately not get an auto and stick to the manual is this correct?.

What do you guys recommend the gsi or the elite models and what are the differences?

Any of you guys who own the 3.2 what are your thoughts regarding the motor? reliability & running costs etc etc?.

I would be extremely greatful if any one could tell me any things to look out for when i go and look at one obviously i would want full vauxhall service history and cambelt change but any thing that is not common knowledge.

I would also like to thank you all in advance for any input you give to a new vectra c member.

    Steve (Blackburn)

There is nothing wrong with the auto box now. Opel, fixed the problem in the 2004/05 model year updates. It was really hit & miss anyway, as not every auto box before the 04/05 update failed or began too.

As for the 3.2 V6, she is a beauty.

Go with whatever transmission you prefer - they're both good. I love my manual V6...

the auto box was sorted early on 04 upwards fuel wise the auto will use more fuel than manual. the elite has more toys to play with and full leather where as the GSi has traction control switch and sports suspension ,half leather.

u should get around 27mpg depending how you drive.

You will be pleased with whatever you get they are both very good. The Elite has all the "toy,s" but the GSI is more spotier looking with a firmer ride.

Look for an auto triptronic box (like i have, ) that why you are getting the best of both worlds.

So far i've only averaged about 20Mpg, so if you buy one and expect this you wont get a big surprise!

As Ed says but.....either way your gonna have a blast.

    Good luck mate

I get 33mpg out of my manual, and that's a figure I've also seen quoted here before, for steady dual carriageway motoring

i agree with the 33 mpg....thats my best ever consumption from all my cars, but then again, never had anything smaller than 2.5 v6 .....so my advice is get something huge like 4.7 v8 where u r just about getting 17mpg and every other car will seem perfect
