    Default Tow bar proof ...

    Guys,

I am looking for proof that this tow bar:

will fit a 2002 Vectra. Opel says the VIN's in EPC indicate that this towbar is intended for Vectra's after 6-2003. Unfortunately this is the only tow bar that will match with the Irmscher bumper spoiler and insert as show on the picture.

    Can anyone help me out?

    Cheers,
    Hans

the after 6-2002 is when the vectra C was launched.. so EPC is correct...and that towbar will fit any vectra-c model that it was designed for..

As in the model I am driving? What is it called in the UK, Saloon, Estate? By the way 6-2002 should be 6-2003.

    Cheers,
    Hans

you have what we call the saloon ( sedan in other countries) ...

if the bar won't fit ( and i can't see why it wouldn't as the floorpans are the same) they can easily be made to fit...

Saloon, thanks. I couldn't see any reason why I shoudn't fit myself, but you know what dealers can be like when you give them too much information (EPC).

Thank you very much, I feel more confident now.

    Gents,

Last weekend I got my towbar fitted without any problem. Since it already had a towbar that was rendered useless a result of the Irmscher bumper spoiler and insert at the rear bumper, it just took about 15 minutes to accomplish. So towbars intended for the newer models will fit the older models without a doubt.

    Regards,
    Hans

Sorry I can't help you with your fitting question, but I can tell you thats its unlikely to be suitable for the Alko Stabiliser hitches, or similar hitches with the built-in stabiliser, as it appears to have insufficient clearance at the back of the ball (from the photos anyway)
Which is why many including myself opt for the swan-neck. Worth bearing in mind should you wish to tow a van with the stabiliser in the hitch which most are these days.
