    Default 2.0 DTI timing chain

I have a 53 plate 2.0 DTi Vectra, am I right in assuming that this engine has a timing chain rather than a belt ?

If so when does this need changing ?

The chain should last the life of the motor in theory, however its not always the case.
Poor servicing, heavy towing & just generally abusing the motor will cause the chain to streatch & become noisy - that's when its time to change it.

My old vecB sri dti had over 115,000 miles on before it left me. no chain issues at all.

There is no service interval, only needs changing when it is rattling.

100k is a good time to change it, but if the engine sounds ok no need.
