    Default Dirty Air

Someone posted up a few weeks ago that being behind an arctic lorry was increasing their mpg figures, so the other night I tried it out and guess what, it does, I wasn't tailgating the HGV more like about 4-5 lengths behind him and the dash comp was dropping until I pulled out and went by, no doubt if I'd got close enough to inspect his cargo I would've entered the windless zone and things may have been different, so here's my tip don't follow a HGV cos it will cost you over a longish trip.

slip streaming is good but as it was on the thread yestaday you run the risk of stone chippings hitting your windowscreen.

That must be true, Because when I come out in the morning my car is dirtier than when I left it the night before.

This has been a nuisance in F1 over recent years, the cars work the air so hard that it's very turbulant when it's passed over it. This means the cars behind can't drive close enough because the turbulant air won't work well on their car.

One of the reasons why there hasn't been a lot of overtaking going on, they often can't get close enough
