    Default CD70 Bluetooth Phone list

Does any one know if there is a list of phones that are fully compatible with the CD70 bluetooth HU?? I have a nokia N95 8gb which connects up and works fine with the cd70 except for the phone book, i have to either go thru the phones contacts or know the actual number i want to dial, i cannot access the contacts on my phone thru the cd70, even though there is a phonebook section on the cd70 screen but it doesn't seem to do anything, do i have to import them into the HU at all?? i dont mind changing my phone if i have to..

Pete, this is a common problem with some phones and the Vauxhall bluetooth. I have had best results with Motorola, no problems at all in fact. Previous Nokia's and Sony's all gave the problems you describe.

There is an update via tech2 available from the Dealers. It takes about 30 minutes. The update was released around March 2007 that helped to cure these problems and also added some more features to the bluetooth menu.

    Paul.

I found my Sony worked perfectly with the VX kit in a loner I had. Aren't the N95's a bit problematic anyway?

I've not had any problems with the n95 as yet but i will look into getting a new phone now.. Hopefully my car will have the cd70 update, but i will give the stealers a call in the morning. i just read on the nokia forum that there is a program to download to my phone that should resolve the phonebook problems, so i'll do that in the morning aswell and see if it works, if not then onto orange for an upgraded phone me thinks....

    Cheers for the info Guys..

N95 (and I think most N-series) don't fully work with many BT kits. My girlfriends Jag doesn't allow the names to work, but does with her Nokia

I think i've found out why a lot of new phones including my N95 don't work fully with the cd70, A lot of new phones are bluetooth V2 and the CD70 is Bluetooth V1.2 And there are a lot of known issues with different bluetooth versions not working correctly with each other, So i need to buy a new phone that is V1.2, Luckily the new Nokia E61i (similar to a blackberry) is V1.2
so im going phone and see if i can upgrade to one on a trial basis to check it works with the car... If it does i'll take it, if not it'll go back and try something else until i get one that works..

I found the specs for the cd70

As far as I can ascertain its the Series 6 Nokia phones that dont work properly these are the ones with the Symbian operating system all the series 4 work ok such as the 6310I 6820 etc.

A little update, I've now found out that i need a phone which has a bluetooth profile called "PBAP" Which stands for Phone Book Access Profile.. Most phones seem to have this except for the nokia S60 series of Symbian phones (N Series) as already mentioned by Bowler above.. Apparently Nokia don't installed PBAP on the Symbian phones such as my N95 because they make their own car kits which have access to the phone book without PBAP.. :-) Thanks nokia.. So im now looking at Sony, motorola and blackberry phones..
