interestingly scary job today

had a call from a new customer today, who manage a few hundred property's in the nottm area, we were asked if we could make safe a door after a police raid on a property, as if by luck we were just up the road from it so went to have a look....................

was gobbed smacked on arival to be met by 8 police officer's who told us it was armed police that had forced entry to the property on a drug's bust as the men inside had a loaded pistol and were not affraid to use it.......

anyway secured the door and left rather sharpish, just realy gobsmacked about the gun thing as it was prodomanantly student accomodation and only 5 or so min's from where i live.....................

It's mental isnt it, I work hard to live in a better area of the town and then the local newspaper reports the biggest drug bust ever in the district and its less than a mile away.

You cant avoid it, really annoys me and scares me - whats it going to be like when my kids are my age.

... just remembered a story from years ago.

Local Hells Angels feud in Stechford, Birmingham. Rival gang turns up at the oppositions HQ house, which is reinforced like a fortress.

Arguing ensues as they try to breech the armoured front door. failing this, they open fire.

As the house was opposite a main road 'traffic light' intersection, stationary motorists were caught in the crossfire. Pictures of bullet holes in cars were highlighted in the papers the following day.
