Default I want to play mp3's through car stereo 2005, whats the best way?

Been looking at fm modulators and ipods to connect to them.

    http://www.incarexpress.co.uk/view_p...tno=ICONNECTFM

    This is the basic one

    http://www.lowcostcaraudio.co.uk/sho..._productJJ3139

This one puts the id info up on the screen

I really only want to use a cheap mp3 player and not go to the expense of an Ipod, Any ideas on the best way forward?

    Cheers

I like the 2nd one.... personally ( and I'm biased ) get a cheap head ( eg a Kenwood / Sony ) just as an amp and install a carpc. Far better than an Ipod and a lot clearer than a FM Modulator....

I've got a Pure Highway DAB in-car digital tuner which has a built-in FM modulator which is far clearer than a standalone FM modulator, with the advantage of having DAB radio thru' my 2005 stereo, and it has a mini-jack socket for MP3 and Ipod. All for £70. Works for me.

That really is a good bit of kit. My problem is that I have a satnav and speed camera detector already in the windscreen and putting another one is going to get a bit cluttered. shame

mind u I could put it up at the top right or left and feed cable up hidden behind the panels, hmmm I can see a plan coming together. Off to maplins for some cable I think.

Cheers for pointing this kit out to me

No problem, mate. The aerial cable is long enough is go from the top corner of the windscreen down and across the whole width of the base of the windscreen all secreted in the recess between the A-pillar/dash and the windscreen. I just pull out what I need to connect its micro-jack to the socket on the DAB adaptor, and shove it back in when I don't need it. Of course no aerial need for MP3/ipod. The FM transmitter is built-in.

My hope is that the FM frequencies will still be there when they do away with FM radio in a few years' time
