    Default Lowering is HIGH

    Hey everyone

(and I know before you start I have not uploaded my pictures of my new car but I lost my granda recently to cancer and I just keep forgetting to do it with everything else on my mind).

However, while I was on checking the posts I thought I would ask for your help.

My brother bought a Vec C 1.9SRI a few months back (the main reason I got one) and took it to be lowered at a well know dealership on Eibachs that he had bought.

However, the front is sitting nice and low but the rear seems the same height (has not changed).

Any ideas why this would have happened?????? Thanks

Hmmm, strange I have found that the rear always looks lower than the front. I have PI Springs and Eibach ones and it was the same for both. R u sure they have fitted the right ones? Checked the axles weights against the ones they have fitted? Maybe a good idea to look and see if they changed the springs at the back!

My brothers car went into a well known Luton VX dealer for crash repair and it came back without his rear lowered springs. They said none where fitted but we pointed out the front ones because they were red. They still denied it all, thieving gits.

It sounds as if they have fitted ones for the wrong axle weights as the front is lower than it should be.

Defo changed the springs as they are a different colour.

Is it possible to put them on upside down?????

Is the pre-facelife and facelift 1.9cdti different weights?????

They could have been put in upside down, was there any markings on the springs or writing that would indicate the proper way up.

Not sure - I think he just took the box straight down to them and let them get on with it.

It just seems strange that the front have lowered perfect and the rear have not??

On mine the front dropped a lot more than the rear with H&R springs, but the back end on mine already sat lower than most SRi's for some reason.

If you post some pics that maybe give a better idea of how high it's sitting.

I still think the springs are for the wrong car. Check which ones your brother brought. They should be 10-65-007-02-2, as these are the ones I have for the same car 1.9cdti sri.
I have checked the rear axle weights on each type of spring that Eibach do for the Vectra C and they are all 1035kg so it seems they use the same springs at the rear for all the various axle weights at the front. I will measure the height of my cars rear arch from the ground, back in a mo

64cm at the back and 66cm at the front. Tyres are 215/50/17's inflated to 33psi. At least this gives you a guide to how low the car should be if you used the same Eibach springs.

Forgot I hve also fitted the Eibach Sports dampers aswell so mine should be lower than your brothers car. The dampers are a bit shorter than the orginal SRi shocks

Thanks for your help guys - I will give him a ring and get him to check it out with the numbers of the box.

Hopefully he will get it sorted coz the car is looking a little silly at the moment.

He has checked the item numbers on the box against the website and they have sent the right ones.................

they must have put them on upside down - its the only explanation unless something mroe serious is wrong.
