    Angry Need more power

Family day out to the beach today when a taxi driver in an octavia tdi nearly took us out, had my wife and boy in the car too, dropped it down tried to get the sun of a b@tch but couldn't muster the power out of 2.0dti, i just wanted to teach him the highway code!!!!! So once my styling mods are paid for think it has to be a chip or something to give it a bit more welly, some advice would be appreciated so i can shop around and get it planned

I have a DTUK box on my CDTI 150 and that has made a huge difference so maybe they will do one for your car. Also look at the latest Total Vauxhall Magazine as they are tuning 1.7 & 2.0 Diesels.
    Hope it helps

Most you'll get is around 140bhp. I've abused a Y20DTH in a past life and seen 138bhp but the fuel economy suffered greatly. The increase in performance was marked though and it felt so dead when I took the box off to sell it before I moved the car on. Tuning boxes are available for the 2.0DTI but they don't come cheap because it isn't a common rail and the fuel pump on that car is massively complex. I'd save the money for a few years and grab a newer model once prices have dropped due the the Insignia's release.

Probably good advice to buy a different model, wish I had done more research before hand. I promised to keep this for two years after my previous car choices I need to hold back a bit and save some money. What would be good is if someone could post links to perfomance enhancing products for the y20dth. Site selling the tuning boxes would be super great please, for people new to this game its all a bit overwhelming sometimes. Cheers guys

fit with caution thou....not concened or allegeing anything about the product.. But just advising against it for the fuelpumps sake...

The only real way to more power ,100% reliably ,is to buy the car that has the power you want as standard...no tuning box firm will ever pay out on damage to your car as a result of using their products...and with a VP44 pump running at £2K fitted i'd seriously think twice before ever boxing one..

Indeed, thats one of the reasons I haven't splashed out on one... (The other reason is, I can't afford one!)

As a quick aside, has anyone ever tried a Fuel Boost valve? They are made by FSE, and I know they work on Petrols. But would they work on Diesels?

I assume it wouldn't work on a DTi though as the pump sorts our the fuel timing anyhow... either that or I would need 4 of those valve thingies..

    Cheers
