If dog gets sick in the car, all you can do is make sure you stop reasonably often, and cover stuff up. We went through 16 years of the same with our old dog. We drove from Hampshire to Wales once, stopped at the services, he was fine, pulled up outside Granny's, Boff, Doggy vom all over the top of the back seat!

I had a dog that was sick in the car only once though, I don,t know if it was due to the "advice" I was given by another dog lover, He said it is due to static????, so I fitted one of those stupid looking anti static strips that hangs from the underneath of the car, the dog was never sick after that I must admit, I do find the idea strange but there might be something in it??

As above, it could be down to static & if so yes the strip will help.

Or it could simply be the dog is not used to being driven around, if that is the case then:
start off with really short journeys ie. just round the block & progressively allow for longer journeys.

We had this problem once, but now we dont feed the dog for 8 hours before a long car jorney. Seems to have solved the problem.

We take our dogs to spain with us a couple of times a year and we use drops called rescue remedy, made by a company called bach (honestly).. it comes in a yellow box and our vets recommended it, its actually for ment for human use for calming & anxiety etc but works a treat..

The amount of people that have given me this tip makes me think it must work.

Spread news paper across the seat for it to lay on/stand on.
