Fishing wire on a hot day in summer (or simulated with a warm hair dryer), carefully pull the wire behind the badge and it will come off. Used some turtle wax tar and bug remover to remove any sticky residue left over
I`m with Andrew, good old nectar card for me, did the trick then some elbow grease on the gunk which is left behind ....Mine was expired when I was finished with it *lol*
Hair Dryer and old credit card works for me.
I've done fishing wire and tesco clubcard ... actually the clubcard was easier ....
great cheers!
I did mine today with the hot water and cash card method and made loads of tiny scratches. Bought some Meguiars Scratch X which, to my amazement, got rid of them. I'd bought a touch-up stick from a dealer in case it didn't work, but there was no need!
I'm now a Meguiars convert and they shall be getting some more dosh out of me soon!!
Not sure about pouring boiling water as suggested above! That's exactly what I would suggest. I have a friend who has a vehicle graphics business and that's what they use - hairdryer type device and a plastic spatula thing.Originally Posted by AJA
I've found AutoGlym engine cleaner (citrus based) removes gunk from paint beautifully. If you haven't got that, some Tar Remover type stuf.
D
I did the boiling water thing D... It's only the heat source that's diff.. Still softens the glue.. Hair dryer might singe the laquer IMO.
That and my tesco clubcard ( all it's used for eh?) made short work of the badges..A little cutting compound and wax, Job Done.. Now just need to do Mrs Gsi's 'new' Vec..
Any Credit Card And A Bit Polish Dose It
