Default Andrew the Bobby, MLC, Jamie and colleagues

Got a problem with a neighbour who allows his kids to use motorised cars, quad bikes etc in our cul-de-sac.

Anyway, tonight it's blown up. A petrol one has appeared and is being spanked around by what looks like a four year old, nearly driving into Sharon as she was reversing. Enough was enough, so I told the older kid just that. Enough. Around comes 'Daddy' "Got something to say, say it to me". So I told him. "I'll tell my kids when enough is enough", he shouts from the other side of the road, "Really", I say, "We'll see about that". So another couple of circuits of the quad, followed by a game of street football, where he stares over a couple of times. I stare back, then ignore him and carry on washing the car!

Basically, He's a pikey, who lives in a proper house. He wont take telling. Apparently, he takes to intimidating people who cross him. Not a problem, I have (legal) ways to deal with him, plus, I could hold my own, no bother!

Where does the law stand on these things? Are they illegal? How do I attract your Thames Valley colleagues down here to deal with it?

scuse me if i bore you about legal shyte now then mate.....

Insurance..... on a road or other place that the public has access there must be in force a power of insurance to cover a minimum of 3rd party risk.....

driving licence..... basically, if it has an engine, you need to be licenced. Not the exact definition, but not far off it.

Get Thames Valley down there to sort it, but first off (and I didnt tell you this) get them on tape doing it....

Section 59 of the Police Reform act - quote that at the cops - gives a powre to give a warning that last 12 months for antisocial use of a motor vehicle on a road or other public place... another incident leads to the vehicle being siezed.

Or, because the @rse wont have insurance to cover it, try quoting section 152 of the serious and organised crime and police act to cover the seizure of an unisured vehicle being used on a road....

Its evidential mate, makes the local plod get off their backsides and actually do something about it - also, keep written evidence on a calender or diray detailing the problems.
Makes our job soooo much easier if we get hard evidence.... as you can guess, when the plod turn up, the motorbikes magically dissappear!

I'd like to see him hide the plant equipment on his trailer. And the illegally parked 7.5 tonner....

Like I say, I'm not worried abou him that much, I've got plenty to play with!!

go for it mate - the law with the respect of the kids on the bikes is well on your side (which makes a nice change....) - helping out the honest tax paying family, instead of going to a house full of giro drawing wasters....
    *ahem*
    rant over.....

    Mate

Don't worry about taking the video as long as they are on public property, I would avoid taking video on there drive as that is somewhat a grey area.

I would suggest the video as far as civil litigation is concerned from the police - taking these things under sec 59 / sec 152 can open a huge can of works with Civil Litigation all over it..... just @rse covering really
