Default Just a quick 1 regarding washer jets

I'm now onto my third veccy and i notice a differece in this one when i use the screen wash. I need to hold the stalk for a second or two before any water appears. When i pull the stalk i can hear the pump going but, as i said, no water appears for a second or two.
I have searched and found a few threads relating to ''gunged up'' pump filters.
My question is: Do you think this is as simple as the pump filter being blocked or does it sound like the pump is on its way out.

PS: When the water does come it sprays totally fine....Maybe i'm just being too fussy.

    Thanks for your help guys.

sounds like the strainer/filter on the end of the pump is gungy.. check the little valve after the pump as well as this prevents drainback...just unscrew the front screws of the nearside wheelarch liner to gain acess..

Yes, the pump will be attached to the washer bottle and have a couple of hoses leading away from it
