Ordered my new Veccy today!!

Hi all

After 2 and a half years I've decided to trade in my 54 plate veccy Elite. I went dow to Vauxhall today and signed on the dotted line for a brand new Veccy Design, 2.2i petrol. I've also taken the option for AFL Bi Xenon lamps. Colour is Silver Lightning. I've been told it's a 6 to 8 week wait. Ok, not the most extravagent, fast or dynamic of veccys, but can't wait none the less.

Couple of questions if anyone can help:

The 2.2i engine is new to me. Is it any good? Does it have any poke? how will it compare to my old 2.0DTi?

Also, has anyone else bought a new one lately? When they say 6 to 8 weeks does that mean 6 to 8 weeks, longer, shorter? You never know nowadays but sods law says it wont be here in 6 to 8 weeks. I'm always a pessimist you see.

Mine was quoted at 7 weeks, but came after 4 weeks.

Try 11 weeks I was chompping at the bit after 6 weeks,

I think Big-Pete waited about 8 weeks,

I ordered my new car in may last year and and i was told it would be 10 to 12 weeks, ended up to be about right as i took delivery of it on the 1st sept, (57 reg) it arrived at the dealers just one week before.. I had a few extras fitted which may have added to the build time.. Bet you can't wait to get it..

i was told eight to twelve for my elite, only took six (no advance warning either, just got rung the day it arrived at the dealer)

The 2.2 is competent and reliable (only seen a couple of threads with problems, usually fuel pump). It's powerful enough for the vec, will comfortably cruise at 80 at less than 3000rpm. i dare say it will feel a lost faster than the 2.0d, but don't forget you -can- rev it a bit more!

Yeah 3months.. Normally i would be going mad as im very impatient.. but ive hardly used it since i collected it, and still only has 524 miles on the clock at 5months old but i love the car and i'll be using it more and more in the coming months, and in June i'll be holidaying in spain and we drive down so it will be a nice comfy drive..

Yeah, can't wait! 3 months!!!!!! ****** hell. I hope it's more like the 4 weeks Mind you, the way I am if it doesn't arrive before, or smack on 8 weeks to the hour then I'll be down there creating hell and getting as much for free as I can. It's worked before
My sister ordered a new Honda Civic last year. She was quoted 4 weeks and it took 5 months!!!

The only extra I'm getting is the AFL Bi Xenon Package, so hopefully it wont hold up production too much
