Default Is co pilot any good?

Looking at a new mobile. Is Co Pilot any good as a basic sat nav, and also is it completely free if it is built into the phone?

In a recent auto express Co-pilot beat Tom Tom 6 for PDA's and its cheaper.

People buy TomToms for the same reason that they buy Volkswagens, HYPE. There are better out there.

I never buy things because of hype.. In fact HYPE always has a negative effect on me as it makes me want something less if everyone else has it aswell (ipods for example..) I've used a lot of sat nav gear and i find tomtoms to be very good at what they do compared to some others available, navmans are rubbish, Garmins i found were good a few years ago but they have copied so much from tomtom now.. You speak as you find...
We had Co Pliot on a pda and it was very good, and only let down by a slow running pda..

I've also never wanted a VW at anypoint in my life

    Default Co Pilot

I have Co pilot on my HTC S710 / AKA Orange E650.

It connects to a GPS receiver via Bluetooth and the sat nav works great - very accurate and comprehensive......however !

One fly in the ointment is that I use bluetooth to use my phone handsfree and when on a call for 10 mins or so, the bluetooth communication with the GPS receiver stops until the call is ended.

What this means is that you can be driving somewhere, end up taking a call and then get lost because the Sat nav has no info !

    Bit of a pain really

Cheers guys. Is it free once its on the phone as t mobiles do the phones with them preloaded. They rang me to upgrade, but i'll only upgrade if its free, if its not free I the ll them i'll cancel and get a new t mobile contract as the phone will then be free, they soon see there's no point in that and upgrade me for free. So If I can get it for free and the co pilot is a no cost option then I'd be stupid not to take it.

Once you have it there are no running costs unless you upgrade it.
