I was at a customers in Buxton today, just driving up to the visitors car park and BANG hissssssssssssssssssssssssss
I stop and thought what the hell have I hit, on the small link road, about 20m long, they have the ram raid posts, not fitted and the metal flapscovering the hole, one was sticking up and I hit it with my back nearside wheel.
It cut a big hole in the tyre wall on the inside and flat spotted the wheel, so...space spaver on and off back to Leicester to the dealers.
Within 10 minutes of arriving, we tried to use a hide hammer to see if the wheel could be saved, it did'nt look that bad but when it was put on the balancing machine without the tyre, the inside rim was like a egg!
I was doing less than 10mph, I must have hit it at the wrong angle and it did the most damage.
They have leant me a tyred up penta until tomorrow when the new tyre arrives, and hats off to Tony Piltcher at the VXR Performance Centre (888), within an hour of my call to him an new wheel had been picked up from VXRPC to be shipped to the dealers tomorrow.
So an expensive day for me!!!! Car has been checked and no other damage apart form my wallett!!:'(
All being well she should be back to normal tomorrow, I have reported it to the site office and we will see if they are prepared to pay anything but it was private land unfortunatly.
