    Default 225/40/18 Tyre weight limits????

    Following on from this thread,have chosen kumho tyres but still a bit confused with the 88w part on the tyre i'm buying,would this be ok for a 2004 1.8 vectra as i've got 93h on my 205/55/16 tyres at present,please help me work out if these will be ok............

    yes the 88w is the speed rating of the tyre and will be more than ok for your car

    w is the speed rating. 88 is the load rating

    I know that but i want to know if they'd be ok on my car as the ones on my car at present is 93,thought 88 wouldn't be enough,but according to glynn it is......

    funny you say that w is the speed rating,the tyres i'm buying are advertised as "225/40/18ZR(88w)"........

    Typing error maybe......?????

    Speed Ratings i.e W

    Load Ratings i.e 88
    http://www.etyres.co.uk/glossary-tyr...rm=load-rating

    so each tire is good for 186MPH and 560KG load.
