    Default Vauxhall Assistance

When I bought my car new last year, my understanding was it came with 3 years road side assistance if I carried out the service plan as prescribed by VX.

This morning I've had a letter from the AA saying I have to pay up for next years cover...

The car is going in for its first service next week at the main dealer.

Any ideas on what is going on?? Thanks in advance.

The cover was reduced from 3yrs to 1. I'm not exactly sure when though, possibly around the time of the facelift.

You can extend the cover for an additional two years for a single payment via the Vx website.

Yep one year with AA then you have to pay. I think recovery and relay for myself and my girlfriend was £39 for the year through the offer.

My astra was with the 3 year deal. I think I had to inform the AA that it was main dealer serviced to keep it up. I cannot remember now.
Now I need a turbo to keep up!

When i first bought my vectra it was 8 months old. I found the AA Vauxhall Assistance card in my log book i decided to phone them too see if the car was covered. The guy took my reg number, checked on computer and told me that the car had 3 years cover. My vectra's a 55 (jan06) plate facelift by the way.

Don't Think This Is Confined To Vx Most Manufacturers Offer Similar. It Is Only A Cheap Sales Gimmick As You Will Probably Find It Is Covered In Your First Years Warranty Anyway.

I have the face lift 55 plate and it came with the 3 year cover. Did'nt know they had reduced it either. No doubt they will put it back on when the new insignia comes out to boost sales for a year or two then will reduce it again!
