If it's attached to the car with double sided tape, it aint gonna do much for stability!

You will be surprised what it will do for stability. It is not how study the spoiler is, but how it affects aerodynamics. Small changes to lip on boot, can have large changes to air flow and separation from the car.

Point in case, some of the first Audi TT's didn't have any spoiler on them. At certain conditions the air flow was separating from the rear of the car at unexpected positions and causing turbulence. This caused the car to be unstable at certain speeds and many accidents were happening. The mod by Audi was a recall and to fit a small spoiler on the back. Small spoiler, BIG change in aerodynamics as the flow separation was more controlled and predictable.

fair point but does this lip spoiler realy make our veccys more stable at high speeds? if so should vaux do the same as audi an recall every veccy and fit them with this spoiler?

Some have this as standard, mine doesn't so I don't know how much of an impact it actually has.

Generally, if you see all models of a car (inc base spec ones) with a spoiler, it maybe means the car has inherent stability issues due to unpredictable flow separation at certain speeds.

so as all models are not fitted with this spoiler as standard i take it it makes no difference whatsoever lol im going for the i500 spoiler for mine looks far nicer plus as mine an sri it already has the lip spoiler.
top advice though how u know so much bowt aerodynamics

I used to work for a diesel engine manufacturer, not really my field BUT I know quite a few of the turbocharger guys. Aerodynamics is their world.

It would make a difference, but I cannot say how much. Clearly Vec doesn't have any aerodynamic issues.

Biggest proof that rear spoilers are there to do a job was on Top Gear where the Stig spun off the track in that new KonnigsigsigsigsigABBAsigsig!!!!!

Snowman, you got your ears on?
