Default Genuine Vauxhall Roof Mounted DVD rrp £695

Right where do I start with this one. I am taking delivery of a brand new genuine Vauxhall roof mounted DVD system. My car has a sunroof so it's not going to fit in mine.

It is listed as fitting Vectra C & Astra H, it comes with everything required to install it and use it. Wiring harness, mounting plate, fitting instructions, remote control, infra red headphones and power lead to mains when un-docked from the car.

This is the top model available from Vauxhall, it demounts from the roof so it can be used indoors via the mains power lead. It retails at £695 including VAT and costs your Dealer £450 to buy in from Vauxhall. When powered up it displays the Vauxhall emblem.

The following is taken from the Vauxhall website:-

Ideal entertainment for rear seat passengers - but can also be quickly removed for security and extra versatility. System comprises a roof-mounted docking station into which the compact DVD player with 7in. colour monitor fits, a pair of cordless headphones and remote control unit. A mains lead is also provided for use indoors (DVD can be connected to a TV), and a battery pack is available as an option for those who want to use the unit outdoors.

It's the same as fitted to Daviek's signum here. (Hope you don't mind me using your fitted picture!) I'll get some pictures of the packed unit posted asap.

Looking for £325 including insured delivery or £300 collected. Payment via bank transfer, cash on collection or paypal. However on accepting paypal I must ask that you add 5% to the total price to cover their fees.

Any questions or interest feel free to PM.

    Paul.

It fits a variety including Meriva, Zafira. Can't see why it wont go in a hatch or saloon. Really easy to fit using rear interior light as a template fix. Looks easy from instructions.

It's been delivered so I'll get some pics up later on.

Out of interest is there any other way of hearing the DVD other than using the headphones.

Does it have a line out so I could plug it into my Pioneer HU, or into my nippers Recaro car seat

    Cheers

You can listen to it via wireless headphones, standard wired headphones and via the speakers built in to it.

It looks really easy to fit. Full instruction manual, you even get a craft knife to trim the headlining. The dock simply self adhesives to the roof and the wiring loom runs down the rear pillar. One terminal to the earth in the boot near the rear light N/S and the live to a 15 Amp fuse position in the REC.

Managed to find some online fitting instructions. It is really an easy straight forward job. It list for the following:-

    Zafira A & B
    Meriva
    Vectra C estate
    Astra H Estate

Can't see why it wont go in the hatch, it has been fitted to the Signum as pictured above.

Have a look here for the step by step guide.

    Paul,

Further to your PM, it is not the same system as fitted to Zafira A, the original system like I had was not removeable, it was a good system if a little bulky but you had an Audio out on it.
