    Default Duff Boiler.....

    ?Anyone know anything about central heating boilers,mines a Heat Line Combi from b+q 3 years old,its just broken again 3rd time in as many years,no im'm not insured,did'nt think i'd need it YET,Anyway keeps blowing fuses, small 3amp ones on the main pcb,

    Anyone out there got any clues.

    it keep's blowing the same 3 a fuse, when is this???? calling for heat or just when ever ?????

    could be the motor sticking.

    Hey up there ditchp.......There are two 3amp fuses on the main pcb ,which first packed in about this time last year,got the engineneer in,he found the fault charged me £120 nicker,all he did was replace the fuses,well i thought to myself i could do what he has done,so this time i replaced the two fuses which had blown with new ones.

    There is power going into the system,and it is calling for heat,BUT after two or three mins the fuses just keep poping,got splinters in me fingers now with scratching me head,open to ant suggestions.

    had something simular to this a few yrs ago and had a faulty gas valve, tried to opperate and blew fuses, could be this but not 100% sure i am affraid, i'm more a thermocouple man my self.....simple thing's like

    could be the vdr on the board. is there any visible damage on the pcb? any burning. check for a small round object like a smartie probably blue in colour these sometimes blow and split open . is the central heating programmer ok.

    Hi m8 no visible damage on board,or burning but there is a faint audible clicking sound coming from somewhere,then as i say the fuses pop,? vdr can you describe this,as i know sweet fa about boilers.

    vdr is the small round smartie type thing but it is a it snaller than a smartie

    Me thinks its the pump or the flue fan!! But if you don't know what your doing .GET a boiler engineer coz boilers can kill!! Sorry not much help but it's safer to get an engineer.
