non starting signum

Happy new year to everyone,



Left my car on a slight incline over christmas for four days outside my house. The car is parked in it's usual place and I would normally drive it with a maximim gap of two days ie the weekend. You know it's life when in a rush the car would not start, I could not belive it. The AA man came out and said park your car facing down hill and using his jump leads after a couple minutes of turning the engine over it started. The AA man commented this is the third time this year for this type of car. Now I wonder if one AA man has seen this problem if this problem is a known one.



Anybody else had a non starting car?



To me this a big problem as it indicates that I can not leave it just anywhere.

AA man said the fuel had run back into the tank and an air leak could be the cause. The car is now pointing down an incline. Well an incline would be a bit excessive I just reversed it up my drive. Time will tell.

More news.



Took it back to vauxhall and they will look at it properly next week. They say it may be caused by the injector seals leaking. Now the car is on 54 plate with 16500 miles on the clock. Anybody got ideas on this could be the cause and is this sort of thing a warranty job?

Its NOT the seals, its the return pipes from the pump, an easy fix, and a common problem on dti's, it should take about half hour to do and cost you nowt as its under warranty

Not yet, but its well documented, apparently they upgraded the pipes, the seals dont usually leak till the cars done 100,000 + mls
