    Default aaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh hate 2008

just got back from nice skiing hols at 2am. had a good sleep and took my favourite car, the vectra b 2.5 v6 for a spin. and what a spin it was. managed to spin off the road into someones front garden and fence. my first ever crash. and really stupid, too. anyway, called the police, since no1 else involved and i was off the road they wouldnt bother. called the insurance was told they d pick me up and take me to the repair centre and give me a courtesy car. accident happened in haddenham, repair in luton. ok. got to luton, they look at the car and say its a write off and i am not allowed to have a courtesy car if its a write off. wtf? called the insurer, more than, and they confirmed. now they are deffering the claim as my mods- kn, lowered and gsi alloys have not been put into the insurance.they will let me know within 5 days what decision has been made. i am soooooooooooooooooooo ****ed off. they are dropping the car on my drive tomorrow as they have no place for it. i want to get her back on the road, as she starts and drives and only needs new bumper, lights and radiator. is she now mine since they have no space for her even if they decide to pay out??? or best to wait with the work until they ve decided?

What I'd do is accept the write off and take the money from the insurance when they pay.
Then you can opt to buy the car from them for a nominal amount. Then using your claim money, repair the car and get it back on the road - result is that you have a working car and it has cost you naff all to repair!

That's the trouble with not declaring your mods, if the insusers can find a way out they will.

tbh i didnt really think a kn filter is a mod? and alloys altough gsi, are still vauxhall standard part. even the lowering kit....what gets me is that they tried to tell me it makes the car faster. and what i was saying is no, it makes the car safer....

the alloys i think you could getaway with, all i'd say is when i insured it was standard to my knowledge cos there vauxhall wheels and its a better model so alloys are standard, the k&n was on it when you got it and you wern't aware it was lowered so to the best of your knowledge it was standard, they will try anything to get out of it,

Fancy a sing-a-long? All together now.

"For ladies who insure their cars
    Sheilas' Wheels are superstars
    Girls are bored beyond endurance
Payin' too much for car insurance
    For bonzer car insurance deals
Girls, get on to Sheilas' Wheels
    The women at the wheel
    Deserve a fairer deal
    For bonzer car insurance deals
Girls get on to Sheilas' Wheels
    Women make the safest drivers
We could save a bunch of fivers
    For bonzer car insurance deals
Girls, get on to Sheilas' Wheels,
Girls, get on to Sheilas' Wheels"

Poor you Lilangel,i'd be gutted if that had happened to me 'ol Astra when i had her....Anyway after our last chat concerning women drivers and insurance,i just couldn't belive it when i read your post today,seriously...you just couldn't write it could you?.... So knowing your unharmed and more than likely a fine lady i thought with tongue in cheek i'd send you some ironic karaoke to make you smile
