Default Fackin Vectra..... In the snow....

I couldn't get on my drive last night due to the snow. So I stopped at the bottom of the hill last night. Went to move it today and the traction control just overrides any grip I get on the bloomin thing!

Anyone else? Any easy way to disable it? And before you ask switch is on order

have you tried set off in 2nd and coax it along slowly, the torque will pull up the hill, the traction control is brilliant if you use it as a tool and not an enemy

I agree with Andy mate. I've been all over this Xmas up on Saddleworth moors. There's plenty of un-gritted roads and drives. I thought the Traction Control was very useful.

Have you tried reversing up your drive?

You could always clear it of snow and put plenty of Salt down as Abyss has said. ;-)

AJA - My hill is a 1/4 mate. And at the bottom of the hill from standstill getting the initial grip to move is the problem. Once we are moving it is fine and helps

Clearing an entire road of snow isn't the easiest option!! We gritted the road as it started to snow, but we have that much around here. 6 inches at least...

I see your problem then. How about some snow chains?

A bit extreme I know but how about buying a very cheap 4x4 for the winter months.

The Pug 406 did it fine as it was able to build the revs before cutting out completely so I could rock it slightly if you see what I mean?

Just need to disable the traction control and it would of gone straight up there!

I have a Subaru Impreza but it is off the road with a blown engine! Typical.....!

    My thoughts exactly

A cheap Land-Rover or similar, and save all that salt getting on your Vec

I had to put the dog to the kennels today, untreated roads, I have to agree the vec is useless on it, I think the 19`s & 235`s don`t help, but I nearly got stuck as well ...

Then you get all the 1/2 wits in their Audi Quattro`s and Mondeos with Jag Badges flying past you on the dual carriageways doing 60+
