    Default Swirl Problem?!?!

    Sounds like ive got the swirl valve problem?! only had the car (04 sri cdti 150) 3 weeks, and at low revs under 2000 rpm its very very very very very slow to accelerate until the turbo kicks in. it only does it now and again not everytime. any ideas ?? its still under warrenty by perrys for a year but would this be covered?? thanks for your time

    Have a quick peek at this thread & then pop your engine cover off & visually inspect >>

    Any check engine/Dash lights illuminated ??

    nope no lights, not had a look at it yet, dont really know what im doing with cars specially diesels! when i ring perrys, what do i say is wrong with it? do i play dumb? and tell them the symptons only or do i mention swirl valves, 3rd injectors, inlet manifold, egr valves???

    State your symptons and then let them diagnose the cause. You could say I've got a 'friend' whos had a similar problem and it ended up being something like the EGR or Swirl valve do you think this could be the same problem? Lets them know you know a bit about it. And yes it should be covered under warranty because both parts are not a consumable (ie meaning a regualr replacement part like diesel filter or brake pads)

    egr falve is a warranty replacement part if not ask why iv changed loads in the past on astra g models and theyve been covered thats a fact.

    started the car today, sounded really rough!! revved it and it wouldnt go over 2500 revs now, and kicking loads of blue smoke out the exhaust, burning oil. rang perrys to explain i cant drive the car to them on thursday, they said use my recovery i got with the warranty to get the car to them so its gone in today, hopefully hear something soon, to be honest im not impressed only had it 3 weeks! and now i find myself without a car, only upgraded to get something new and 'more reliable' its only done 24k its a joke.
