easy m8 think its a 10mm deep socket and ratchet just be careful when taking the top connectors off that you dont snap them they squeeze then pull up as they have clips inside. time about 1 hour.. i think one at the left of the engine you need to take a tiny piece of hose from the turbo off to get socket in. HTH
cheers mate think that will get rid of the spanner thru car symbol hopefully lol once i get it sorted iv learnt sumat in life dont get a high millage car not worth it just stick to cars with only 50000 on the clock
Sorry to ressurect a thread from the dead but just wondering if replacing the Glow Plugs resolved the spanner warning light you had. I currently have the spanner light on for about 5 minutes after starting the car from cold on my 1.9 [150] CDTi. Its going for a service but the dealer wanted an extra £110 to replace the Glow Plugs to see if this would get rid of the light. So concidering changing them myself as a set costs about £30.
Plugs are aprox £13 each from the dealer & can be bought cheaper from ECP etc...
Mine were replaced at my last service in Jan with no addition labour charge & yes if the spanner is coming on in the morning for a few mins after the first cold start, it usually the plugs at fault.
try turning the key a few times before starting to bring the plugs on for longer & see if that helps... there's a how to for the plugs on the forum in the appropriate section...
hth
Had the same problem...spanner light on every morning for a few miles then went out. Glow plug replaced last week (fortunately for me under warranty). Not seen the light since. Happy days.
