    Default High Mileage??

Having Changed Jobs I Have Just A Purchased A 2007 Sri 19cdti. Unfortunately I Will Be Doing About 50,000 Miles A Year!!

Are There Any High Mileage Cdti Out There At All?
If So What Would You Recommend On The Service/ Preventative Front To Make Sure The Car Lasts Me A Few Years, Thinking About Cam Belt, Egr Issues Etc.

    Many Thanks

I dont know if mine qualifies .............yet. Purchased end Jan 2007 with 6k on it, now has 59k.
I had the cambelt done at 55k when I had the last service done, simply because of the use the car has.
I have had issues with flywheels (under warranty) and a busted drivers seat.
While its been in warranty it has been serviced at A VX dealer every 20k. When the 60k is up (very soon), I shall be doing most of the servicing............ oil/filter every 10k............and others as and when needed.
In these days of computerisation there really isnt much else which can be done...........as far as I'm concerned regular oil changes are the key to longevity, but I also done give it any stick until it is at normal operating temp, and I always let it idle for a short while after a run to allow the turbo to wind down.
I'm sure someone else will be along soon to add to what I have said.

A friend of mine drives an 04 120 cdti estate as a taxi its got just under 190.000 last time i looked, hes had a few problems such as flywheel, egr and crankshaft pulley which fall apart like the hdi peugeots do but other than regular services and general wear and tear bits its been a good car.

I bought my 55 plate CDTI SRi 150 last week. It's just out of warranty now because of the miles but that's why I got her quite cheap. The higher miles don't bother me though because she's been really well looked after and hopefully any probs have been sorted under warranty.

I went to the dealer to chase down the service history and found out it had just had a new clutch and flywheel and also the EGR valve had been replaced under warranty. She's also been serviced regularly and seems to run really well. Hasn't had the cambelt changed yet, but I'm going to get that done within 10k, then I'll be happy with the idea of a remap.

Looking forward to a good few years of happy motoring!

Do You Think Its Worth Changing The Water Pump When Doing The Cam Belt Or Perhaps Changing It Every Second Time, Ie Once Every 100-120 000 Miles
