pray it's the heatsheild...if it's the turbo then it could be worn shaft bearings or a loose poppet valve..

get some leather heatproof gloves and try holding the heatsheild still to see if the rattling stops..

been working on cars for far to many years....

check for loose lower heatsheilds as well and loose covers in the area first...before condemning the turbo...check hard..turbo's aren't cheap..

sounds like the bearings to me mate inside.

I always let my car run on a bout 30 secs when i pull up to let the oil circulate and turbo wind down.........

P.M Duncan mate he had a turbo prob a few months back, he may be able to help you.

a turbo can rattle, but you say it's the plate it's mounted to..??..or the bit to the right of the turbo?..thats the downpipe for the exhaust.. held in place with 3 nuts.. one of the could have come loose letting the downpipe rattle on it's steel gasket..
try holding that pipe left hard while seeing if the rattle stops..

you can check this by removing the downpipe and seeing if there's any sideplay in the shaft.. if there is even minimal bearing play it's usually accompanied with massive oil consumption
