    Default Lazy Central Locking

Can anyone help? I have a 2004 1.8 LS which I bought (almost) new. Great car and extremely reliable but about a year or so ago the central locking began to get "lazy". The plimps open the drivers door first press but the second stage - to open the remaining doors - can take several presses until they open. BUT - locking and deadlocking also happen first time every time. The car has been back to the dealers several time to have the keys re-programmed, the central locking "sim" (?) card changed and - eventually - two new keys. The new keys worked very well for some months but have now started the same thing again. If you sit inside the car with the fobs they work first time every time for opening on both stages . Batteries have been changed but make no difference. The problem is annoying in the extreme, especially with two kids trying to get in when it's raining!! Does anyone know what might be the problem as the car is now out of warranty (plus the dealer seems to be unable to fix the problem too).

Mine has the same problem, but only with my key, my wife's key which is new works just fine.
I have found with my key, if I give a long press of the button 1st, the 2nd press will unlock all the doors every time.

I'm Guessing that the buttons in the key must wear down their electrical contacts slightly over time causing the key to give a shorter impulse to unlock, and it must get to the point that the reciever in the car doesnt always pick up on the 2nd press.

See if yours is the same as mine, try a long firm press the 1st time and just a normal press the 2nd, works every time for me, well every time I remember to do it.

Sorry to bump up an old thread but I'm having the same problem. Is there anyway to resolve this? I literally wait 5-10seconds before I can press the key again in order to open all the doors. Same for boot. But i can press the lock button as much as i want! Tried replacing the battery and the same happens.

Tried my spare, but just realised its not working at all! Think it needs reprogramming.

    Note: I've also got a 2004 (plate 53) 1.8 SXI

Sorry yoclick - it never was resolved. The dealers never could fix it and until I sold the car a few weeks ago (and got another Vectra ) it still did the same thing (on both keys). Friends I knew with the same model as me never had this problem and the dealers were going start charging to fault find! I just lived with it . Anyway the new car doesn't have that probelm so all's well that ends well! Sorry I can't help!

Mine sometime doesn't unlock the drivers door lock, but unlocks all the others on the first press. I quick relock and then unlock solves it. But I have no idea why it is doing this.....
