Default East region 2008 meets / events suggestions..

Hi, As some of you may be aware i was recently appointed the role of Assistant Regional Organiser (ARO), And I'm going to be meeting up with Ben sometime within the next few weeks and one of the things we'll be discussing is ideas for East region 2008 meets, Choice is always important and to a degree is location due to the East region covering a failry large area, so if you have any ideas or suggestions for possible meets or places to visit that you feel we could / should attend then please let us know, We'll then look into it and if suitable set the wheels in motion, So let us know, whether its a rolling road day, a photo meet in a picturesque location or whatever.. There are also the National Meets, PVS, Billing & TRAX etc.. Hopefully there will be plenty going on to keep everyone happy

    Pete..

I hope you don't mind if I repost my previous suggestions then:

    1) I'll reissue my recommendation for Duxford Imperial War Museum:
The Imperial War Museum at Duxford has established itself as an excellent venue for all sizes of Car Club meetings. From social meetings to large-scale events, Duxford can offer an exciting and enjoyable day out to all.

    2) Thetford Forest
High Lodge is a bit expensive to get in but there's lots of parking space, space for games, woodland walks and the Go Ape course if booked in advance. There are scattered free car parks in remote parts of Thetford Forest but this would take some researching.

    3) Aldeburgh
On the Suffolk Coast, Aldeburgh has a superb raised gravel beachside road for excellent photo opportunities. Traditional seaside town with the worlds best Fish & Chips, a pebbly beach and good pubs. No arcades!

    4) Freeport, Braintree
Vec-C WAGS can go shopping at the Designer Village while the rest of us compare cars in the ample car park.

    5) I wonder whether Millbrook ever let car clubs in?

Alright, so I'm not in a Vectra at the moment, but I'm sure I could 'borrow' a VXR for meet-purposes if required.

I've emailed Millbrooks and asked if it would be possible to visit their proving ground and facilities.. You never know they may agree..
