Default Self Park or Valet Park?

With my history of bad luck at Manchester Airport, I'm not sure what to do.

Next week I start work in Bonnie Scotland for a long stretch that sees my flying up Monday at 06:00 ish and back at 17:00 ish.

I can pre-book my parking and there is an option for valet parking. They keep the keys while I'm away. It means I woun't have to worry about them, but then again I have seen Ferris Buller several times!

What do you think....park it myself or DIY? Its the same car park!

Do it your self.... or if possible not take it in the first place.... an Airport taxi pre booked will probably work out about the same.

    DIY for sure Brocksie!

A while ago a secure car parking company was found guilty of driving customers cars around knowing they had flown off somewhere. They got caught going through various speed cameras and the owners traced it all back to them.

An option is to drop your car off on my drive and get a cab to the airport (about £15 one way). I'm sure I could mock up a receipt for parking, for your expenses.

I use Budget Airparks near Carrington - YOU park the car yourself and you take your keys on holiday with you - I pay around £26 fopr a fortnight - bargain!

Depends on the company you use.
I used to use an outfit at Gatwick who were very good, and totally trustworthy. Most of their drivers seemed to be ex-police.

    BROCKSIE......WTF

    Thanks for the offer Alex,

Money isn't the issue(to me anyway) its having to get up an hour and a half earlier to get to Work which is a 15 minute taxi ride too.

The problem with that (and using your drive mate) is that I have to drive past the airport, park up and then go back arriving at the termiinal just over an hour after I past the airport in the first place. Then comming home, I come out the airport and head in the wrong direction befoer going home past the Airport again!

PS: Are you sure your not missing your C and want to have a run around in mine!

No way would I let someone else park my car. Just no guarantee how they will look after it, or others parked near it, and you can bet there will be discalimers for damage - I'm thinking bumper scrapes, dings in the doors etc.

I don't know Manchester but last time I flew for work from Heathrow I used the Business Parking Plus at T4 - frequent bus drop to the terminal and the "plus" spaces are significantly wider than standard spaces - may be worth seeing if Manchester offers anything similar.

they do...Premier Parking. The Valet parking uses this car park too. buses every 5 minutes as opposed to every 15 at the other carparks.

The real hussle had some good valet parking scams... I would prefer to park myself every time, choose your space and take a bit of care.

I remember some firm in London driving peoples cars to a supermarket for the week after charging for secure parking - didnt someone catch them out and it was on watchdog ?
