    Default White/blue smoke at startup

When i started my 1.9 CDTi 120 up yesterday I got a nice cloud of white smoke, today with the temps down to -5 when I got in I got a smaller brief cloud of bluey-white smoke.

Not being an expert on diesels (this is only my second!) is it normal to have a bit of bluish/white smoke on a cold startup?

I don't notice any smoke at all after the initial startup or when driving?

I don't seem to be using oil or water (in any noticeable amount anyway!)

I had exactly the same on my 120. The dealer had the car on 3 occasions and on each claimed they couldn't find anything wrong.

Finally had the injectors and seals changed and that seems to have sorted it.

I've also had the c**p 6 speed box replaced, now much better, but at the same time they changed the fly wheel and clutch!

Now like a completely new car - great.

Mines a 2004/54 so well out of warranty!

So I'm stuck with the terrible gearchange, and if the injectors/seals need replacing then I'm off to find a Ford Focus...

    Arrrggggghhhh!!! Don't do it!!

I had a 53 Plate 1.8 TDCi 100. Worst engine ever!!! Was worse than the 2.8 D lump that goes in an LTI Taxi!!!

Mine went wrong when 1 month out of warranty with 44k on the clock. Ford Stealer couldnt fix the problem so it got sold on.... and here I am!

    Only kidding.

Although I used to have an old 2002 TDDI Focus and I thought it was OK. Better gearchange than Vec C! Put 80,000 on it with few problems.

Had mine serviced 3 days ago - guess what! Now smokes on startup - Big Time! Also very lumpy tick over for about 1-2 minutes.

Booked in on Friday to get checked, any ideas?
