Default Exorcism required on wing mirrors...

    Hi all,

Sophie's wing mirrors on the vectra are acting up, when you adjust the passenger side one it's fine, works as it should, but when you push down the button to adjust the drivers side and then make any changes it turns both the drivers side and the passengers side.

I'm sure they were working fine just the other day when i was driving it.

    Bit spooky.

Anybody else ever had this? Is there anything i can do other than taking it to the dealer?

Don't think the car likes the recent spell of frost!

I think this is normal behaviour as mine does it, I believe that they are designed to move in unison in order to help - b*ggered if it does in my case though!

I think there is meant to be some form of corresponding action from the opposite mirror - but I must like my mirrors different to VX as it took ages to get them anywhere near.

To be honest I cheated and "forced" them externally...

Perfectly normal, the only time I find it helps is when reversing off of certain drives, you can point them both down together.

My previous 2004 Elegance, you could control each mirror independantly, but
my current 2006 Elite is as mentioned above. Personally I prefered the set
    up of my previous Vectra.

To quote from my Elegance handbook (2003 edition):-

Adjusting exterior mirrors: Press switch for left or right hand mirror:
four-way switch operates the corresponding mirror.

To quote from my Elite handbook (2007 edition):-

Adjusting exterior mirrors: If the outer mirror switch is pressed the
four-way switch operates the driver and front passenger mirrors, and if the
inner mirror switch is pressed it only operates the front passenger mirror.
