Courtenay remap

Ok been looking in to getting a bit more from the 150.

i've seen it on their rollers from an Astra 206/330 running a courtenay map.

Andy from DTUK also said i should see over 200 and 330 from one of their box's

has any one else used either and what did you gain.

i realy want more get up and go like my Astra CDTi 150 did in sport.

i have modded the air box today by removing the top of the air feed.
i will be getting either a courtenays/piper cross or a KnN eliment to aid flow.

other than a new cooler which at the mo is more than i want to spend what else can be done to make the vec feel and go a bit more urgent.

While the boxes are good, they tend to hit around 196hp. Over 200 on certain rollers (see Regal etc).

general findings from various gurus on the forum has been to add in a box/have a remap, with remap being the safer option as regards the engine relaiability itself mate. Anything else starts to get really expensive for minimal gain, or takes the mind of a mad but ingenius scientist (e.g Nutron...) to come up with in the first place...

i can afford it but i dont want to if you know what i mean i can get it mapped on a roller for less than that.

at least i will know whats going on i hate hand held generic mapping.

Must say I agree with you Alex. Two places near me will remap on the rollers to whatever power level you want, for £250. Both will keep a copy of your map (one will even give you a copy of your map on a USB key) and will blow it back on FOC if it gets wiped out by the dealer or whatever.

Makes you wonder how they have the cheek to charge an extra £300 for a bit of hardware which is probably worth £40 in parts at most...

I am not getting into and I am sure others will agree when they read the comments incoming on this thread; the good old argument that appears on here far to often when people ask about re-maps etc.

Myself and big-pete have it for the 150 and we are extremely pleased with it, as you will find with the petrol boys aswell, however just to clarify a point it isnt generic!

Its your choice at the end of the day.

i was just going on the info i was given from DTUK that the way the box's work is the same on all of them.

some of the petrol maps are generic bit like the 888 maps from vxrpc.

where as the map from courtenays is done on their R/R any everything is checked and if there were to be any issues then a new map would be writen.
