Default When did you last take you wheels off?

Decided to swap the fronts and rears today (standard GSi/Elite wheels), said to the wife I would be an hours or so (took me bl@@dy hours ). I reckon they have not been off for about 7 - 8 months.

The fronts came off no problem but the backs were firmly stuck. Tried all the slackening bolts and wiggling on the ground – but nothing moved.
Eventually after leverage from the front (carefully against the disc) and a fence post levering against the spring at the back it moved little by little. Got them off eventually, the surfaces are cleaned up and gave them a thin smear of copped slip.

I would not have had a chance if I needed to replace one of the back tyres away from home (don’t have fence posts in the car toolkit). If you have not had your wheels off for a while it would be worth a quick check in the relative comfort of your own drive/home. I’ve even got the tattoos on the knuckles to remained me over the next few days (skin on your knuckles is overrated).

And as Mark Says. Clean the mating faces with a wire brush/Emery tape & smear with copper grease
