Alarm Siren..

Does anybody know if it's possible to turn the alarm siren up on the C??

I accidently set mine off yesterday and I could hardly hear it!!!!

I had to have a look at my indicators to make sure it was my car as it sounded like it was coming from a couple of streets away

Same on my signum very quiet no good if it gets broken into would also like to know if its possible. or even retrofit a louder siren aswell as the factory one

Yep, mines the same. First time my alarm went off was when I forgot to close the windows when I locked the car on the driveway (about 20 yards from the house). Didn't know it had gone off until my neighbour knocked on the door telling me it had been going off!!! On my Astra G I would have heard it no problem.

Been meaning to look at a retrofit siren in place of the standard one - this has reminded me!!! If anyone finds out some info, do share it with us!!

I've already asked a local alarm fitter if the siren could be upgraded, but his answer was no. I don't know whether he just wanted to sell me a new alarm though.

I've been meaning to ask at the dealer, as I'm sure I read on one of the other forums about someone getting theirs upgraded. It may of been Leeds Vectra, but I'm not sure.

It's a nightmare to fit an aftermarket alarm you get serious conflicts from the vectras canbus system. I think it wouldnt be to hard to locate the siren and the cables coming off of it and fitting an additional sounder from a company, say RS components catalogue. I may be wrong though but it seems simple idea.

The siren itself is in the rear nearside wing, can be accessed by taking the rear nearside light cluster out I think.

Has anybody got anymore ideas about this?

I have found the siren... inside the First Aid cubby hole in the boot but i'm not sure if its just a siren or if its the actual control box for the alarm?

I think i'm right in thinking that if it is just a siren then an additional siren could be added??
