Default Does changing the Swirl valve result in EGR Damage

Hi, I recently had my Swirl valves changed, This involved replacing the Inlet Manifold,
The car drove fine after the work was carried out for a couple of weeks but then drove rough,
A visit to Vauxhall diagnosed that a New EGR Valve was needed,
I wondered if anyone else has found this to be the case,
I know the swirl valves are a common fault that many people have had fixed, Did you also experience damage to the EGR Shortly afterwards?
If you have had new swirl valves fitted then Please answer yes or no if you read this thread so that we can get a better idea about the percentage of problems that may have occured,

    Regards Bren

With all due respect, This thread is for people who have had it changed,
So far, No-one has said they have not experienced a fault shortly after having it changed and I have had a fault,
So its 1 Nil to me at the moment,
I Do hope many more people read this post and respond honestly, and I hope you are right that there is no connection, because if there is, its just a further worry for all us CDTi Owners.
My Friend has just had his Swirl replaced under warranty, but the warranty expires in 5 weeks, and he's been watching with fear the problems that i've been having just weeks in front of him and now he's worried his EGR may go when its just out of warranty,
When I was reading up on the Swirls, A few people did mention the car drove fine for the first week after replacement but then started experiencing running problems again, that is why I started this thread, to give us all a better understanding of the engine and its pro's and cons,

    Kind Regards Bren

chances are it was the egr that was at fault in the first place because they can bring up same fault code . "air intake leak detected " and on alot of cars i have found that both egr and manifold to be faulty at the same time . but the inlet manifold canot cause the egr to fault !!!

Yeah, I have paid for the Inlet replacing now, I've fallen out with my Evans Hallshaw dealership big style, They told me so many lies its untrue,
Maybe I paid for an inlet that I didn't need but its all done now,
I just wondered if it was really the inlet then why did so many others also have trouble again shortly afterwards,
I'm thinking they may have replaced the inlet for the £££ and cleaned the EGR before putting it back on to make the car run better so the customer will not complain,
Then maybe the EGR will be fit for a long time or just play up again after a week or four, as in my case.

    Thanks for your input.
    Regards Bren
