Default Can I fit a wider tyre? 245 instead of 235

    Hi,
    I have a Vectra C with 235 35 19 tyres fitted,
I need two new tyres and was wondering if I was able to fit 245 / 35 / 19 instead of 235 /35 / 19 at the rear.
The car is only lowered slightly so I do not think they will rub but I wanted to check incase someone has already tried it,
I also wonder if they will look much different to the ones on the front, I know the sidewall will be higher even though they will both be rated at 35, but do not want it to look really uneven,
Pictures as well as suggestions will be grateful,
    Kind Regards Bren

    Shouldn't rub.

Rears would be 7mm bigger diameter and 22mm bigger circumference which is 0.5%.

Sometimes cars can look better with a little bit of front to rear "rake" in - you are really not going to notice any difference driving though.

Also slightly wider rubber should make it harder to kerb the wheels themselves...

Hi, I am glad they will fit, and Cosmetically the car will look slightly meaner from the rear with wider tyres but possibly silly from the side with a higher profile which is something I need to think about,
If Anyone has any pictures that would be great,
I am prone to kerbing the wheels, so the extra protection will be a benefit,
    Regards Brendan

I really don't think you will notice, by a casual glance, a tyre that has a higher profile of 3.5mm!

Check this picture. The rears are LOWER profile by 3.75mm but I don't it's really ruined it... Besides which many bigger cars have different sizes front to rear.

    I'd go with it.

Thanks, I cannot tell the difference, Regards Bren.
I'm going tomorrow so I will ask the dealer to grab both styles and hold them side by side,
I'll try and post photos up if I have them fitted as well,
    Regards Bren

Hi, They only had one style in stock for the 245 35 19 and they were very expensive so I decided to stick with the 235 35 19, They had plenty to choose from,
Today was the first time in over a month that I have been out in the car, Its spent so much time at vauxhall, It was a dream to drive, And Problem Free,
I'm keeping my fingers crossed that my run of bad luck with all the engine problems will now change,
It has its M.O.T Tomorrow Morning, i've just been all over Castleford tonight trying to find a Car Wash thats open, They have all shut due to the cold weather, ******.
i'll try and get it washed first thing
    Regards Bren
