Booked my car in yesterday for its second(4 year) EcoFLEX service.
Was quoted £250 so I asked for a breakdown of the costs. One item stuck out. £57 + V.A.T. for 5.5 Lts of long life oil. This is 5.5 X the 1Ltr retail price.
Now the dealer buys the oil in 205Ltr drums which works out to a little over £2 for 1Ltr. A big difference. Is this taking the pi$$ or what. After arguing my case with them they have agreed to use oil that I will supply to them. This I can get through the trade club which costs just £18.30 + V.A.T./5Ltrs when you buy 4 5ltr cans.
I ask is it right to charge full retail price for a sevice item and also charge in the £100 region for labour when they only pay cost price for the parts.
