    Default V6 turbo Upgrade?

    Hi All, Newbie to the group ... was hoping somebody might have some thoughts or experience on the following...

    My cars an Feb 06 Signum 2.8 Turbo (Manual). Can with 231 hp, but Vauxhall upgraded the standard engine to 250 hp within 6 months of me buying it . I asked Vauxhall if an upgrade (ECU I suspect) was possible, but got no response ...

    So the question is ... Has anyone got any experience of upgrading a 231 spec V6 to 250 via GM parts, or used a third party re-mapper? Any recommendations? Was the upgrade purely ECU, or were there any mechanical changes?

    BSR would be my recommendation. Superb product and great customer service. I've got it on my 2.0T, but they also do it for the 2.8T - it'll get yours up to around 285bhp! I think one person so far on the forum has done the BSR on the 2.8T.

    Thanks Duncan! Did you get them to fit your kit (I see they have a UK base in Surrey), or can it be fitted DIY?

    Hmmm tempting - thats a big power hike!

    The Stage 1 - which is what it would be for yours - is simply 'Plug and Play' You get the mapping unit (see Steve at LMF for that) with the relevant map on it, plug it into the socket under the ashtray, follow the instructions on the unit and five minutes later you're mapped. There may be the possibility that the unit has to read from the car, you connect the unit to your computer, upload your original car map to BSR. They then send you back a map to download to the unit and put in the car. My experience, and others, is that BSR turn around sending you a new map within a day - that's only if the unit needs to read the car, it may just go straight in. So no fitting of any components in your case.

    On my Stage 3 - complete new exhaust/downpipe and different injectors - I fitted it myself, but as yours will be software only, you simply wait for the unit to turn up (usually next day from LMF) and do it from the comfort of your car.
