If you look closely, it has dropped and this is 90% of the time jammed open thermostat. Nothing serious, just means the engine takes longer to heat up and usually runs 3degrees under normal.

The slightly low level is because the thermostat has jammed open and water is going through the radiator instead of circulating/returning to the reservior, hence low level, just top it up with a drop of water or coolant if you have some handy.

I had this problem too and thermostat still no fixed yet!!!

Try and get it replaced, it really isn't healthy to have an 'overcooled' engine.

If you drive on frosty mornings you will notice it LOL

Also follow the manual as for the ideal level.

Huh? The cooling system is a closed circuit. Whether the thermostat is faulty or not, at some point it's going to be open, and as the radiator is full when coolant from the engine passes through it, the return feed from the radiator is going to pass the coolant back into the header tank/engine.

From what you're saying, if the thermostat were operating correctly, as soon as the engine got warm and the stat opened, the low level light would always come on.

simple answers first.....if the level is fine and the light is on, it's a faulty sender.....located in the bottle...replace either the sender or the complete header tank..

As big dave said.. sealed system.. operation of thermostat will have no effect on the level whatsoever..
