Default handsfree car kit info needed

    hi all,
right then,my new vec has a handsfree car kit fitted to it (ex reps car).
now, everything's in there and all wired up except where the phone should go,,there is no cradle for it to click into but the bracket is there.

is it possible to get a cradle, fit it to the bracket and just plug the wires into it to get my phone (sony k800i) to work or is there a lot more to it ?

i havent a clue what phone was in there before,,sorry.

My advice is bin the existing hands free, and get a decent bluetooth kit fitted. That way, you won't need to keep changing the cradle, or worse the car kit, if you change your phone.

When you get the car , search for bluetooth devices with the engine running as it may have a ck-7w kit installed , at worse a THB bury kit , which you can buy cradles for .

If you have a Nokia and it's got a CK-7W kit in you are laughing, at least if you have the right phone! Mine uses the radio aerial and comes through all the speakers, its mint! You should be able to get pop port cradles for most Nokias that will just plug in and your phone will always be fully charged. If not it will still work on bluetooth once its paired.

Is the bracket by the handbrake?

Forget that, just seen you cars age. Do you have the coin tray in front of the gearstick or is there a unit in there? With it being an older ELITE you might have the factory nokia car phone fitted.

Every one goes on about these clips.... at £90 stuff that - how ever what I do suggest is dashmount.co.uk and get a bracket for next to nothing from there specifically for the Veccy ( or the leather lump thing which looks nice too ) and then get a holder from some one like Brodit. IMHO they are better built, cheaper and will go on Ebay quickly as a result so you wont loose much money.
